(September 13 – 15:55 ET) – Spectrum Investments is launching seven new funds that focus on world markets. The funds are: Global Health Sciences Fund, Global Financial Services Fund, World Growth Managers Fund, RRSP Global Health Sciences, RRSP Global Financial Services, RRSP World Growth Managers and RRSP European Growth The newest additions to Spectrum’s fund family will be available on September 18.
“These new funds significantly expand our offering of fully RRSP-eligible global equity funds and provide investors with increased opportunities to invest in regions and sectors offering superior growth potential”, says Karen Bleasby, vice president, investments.
Spectrum Global Health Sciences Fund invests in companies poised to benefit from rising demand for healthcare and the accelerating pace of medical discoveries around the world. Spectrum RRSP Global Health Sciences Fund is the100% RRSP eligible version.
Spectrum Global Financial Services Fund invests in banks, insurance companies and investment firms around the world. Spectrum RRSP Global Financial Services Fund is its RRSP eligible clone.
The funds will be managed by MFS Institutional Advisors. Spectrum says the funds will be “Best Ideas” portfolios combining the talents of research analysts at MFS. Each fund will be a global portfolios of 25 to 50 leading-edge companies in the financial services and health sciences fields.
Spectrum says that the Spectrum World Growth Managers Fund brings together some of the world’s most promising investment themes and accomplished portfolio managers in a single fund. The fund covers eight investment mandates: global telecommunications, global health care, global financial services, US growth stocks, European smaller companies, global smaller companies, Asia-Pacific and emerging markets.
In addition, the fund gives investors access to two global investment firms with vast research resources — MFS Institutional Advisors of Boston and Mercury Asset Management of London. This fund is also available as an RRSP eligible clone, Spectrum RRSP World Growth Manager Fund.
Spectrum European Growth Fund, one of Spectrum’s top performers, is now available in a 100% RRSP eligible version with the introduction of Spectrum RRSP European Growth Fund. The fund is managed by Mercury Asset Management.
