Hartford Investments Canada Corp., the manager of The Hartford Funds, yesterday announced the addition of a new investment advisor to the Hartford U.S. Stock Fund team.

Effective November 1, Peter Higgins, vp of Wellington Management Co., LLP will assume joint responsibility for the day-to-day investment decisions in respect of the fund in conjunction with the existing individual portfolio managers.

Wellington Management has acted as Hartford’s portfolio sub-adviser in respect of Hartford U.S. Stock Fund since the fund’s inception. Wellington Management will continue to serve as Hartford’s portfolio sub-adviser in respect of Hartford U.S. Stock Fund.

Higgins will engage in the day-to-day investment decisions in respect of Hartford U.S. Stock Fund in conjunction with Steven Irons, senior vp and Saul J. Pannell, senior vp, both of Wellington Management.

There are currently 10 funds in The Hartford Funds lineup.
