Nuveen Investments is launching a new Web portal on all aspects of the various types of exchange-traded funds, including closed-end ETFs and index-ETFs.

ETF Connect provides detailed information on more than 500 funds from 105 sponsors, as well as educational materials and a news archive devoted to ETF news. The site provides daily net asset value information as well as share price and current and historical dividends.

Visitors can search for funds by ticker, fund size, fund performance, or sponsor. A detailed profile of each fund is provided, including information on assets, leverage, shares outstanding, top holdings, investment objective, etc.

Data can be viewed in tabular or graphical formats, and fund characteristics can be viewed side-by-side on the site. ETF Connect also includes information on preferred shares, a special share class often issued by closed-end funds as a means of adding leverage to the underlying fund.

“While Nuveen already has an excellent Web site for our own 78 closed-end ETFs, we recognized that more and more investors are combining different types of ETFs in their portfolios,” explains Bill Adams, executive vice president Nuveen Investments. “Our goal is to help investors and their advisors better manage their portfolios by providing the most balanced and comprehensive source of ETF information anywhere.”
