Accumulus Management Ltd. has named Leon Frazer & Associates Inc. as portfolio advisor for the equity component of the Accumulus Balanced Fund.
The fixed income component of the fund will continue to be managed by Frances Connelly of Felcom Management Corp. The fund was launched in February 2004.
Leon Frazer is a registered investment counsel and portfolio manager with over 65 years of asset management experience.
According to Accumulus, the fund is ideal for investors seeking to grow their portfolio with lower volatility. The fund actively manages its asset mix to add incremental returns to portfolios, and has the flexibility to increase or decrease the equity component depending on market conditions. The fund can also benefit from market downturns through limited short selling.
The fund is 100% RSP eligible.
Accumulus is also launching the Accumulus TargetYield Protected Note Series II. This is the second in a series of products designed to help investors achieve high income potential with 100% capital protection by National Bank of Canada.
Accumulus says the note has the potential to deliver investors an 8% compounded annual return if called at mid-term by the bank, or an unlimited potential return if not called prior to maturity.
The underlying reference portfolio is managed by two portfolio managers, including Leon Frazer.
Accumulus is a subsidiary of Jovian Capital Corp.
