(November 13 – 14:55 ET) – Investors Group has filed simplified prospectuses for a new investment program using strategic asset allocation and a multimanager approach.

The 1World Portfolios offer strategic asset allocation and diversification across asset class, geography and investment style.

Investors Group says the portfolios are geared toward clients who are seeking a simplified, one-stop solution to their investments. Each portfolio offers a unique degree of risk. The portfolios are expected to be available in January 2001, subject to regulatory approval,

“These new products are designed to help us achieve our goal of becoming Canada’s leading wealth creation and management company,” said John Wiltshire, Investors Group’s vice president, product and service marketing. “This is one of the largest launches in our history. It adds broader choice for our clients and increases their ability to diversify their portfolios.”

The seven new portfolios are: 1World Conservative Portfolio: 1World Moderate Conservative Portfolio: 1World Moderate Portfolio; 1World Moderate Aggressive Portfolio; 1World Moderate Aggressive Registered Portfolio; 1World Aggressive Portfolio; and 1World Aggressive Registered Portfolio

Investors Group says the portfolios will be managed by top advisors from Investors Group, Janus Capital Corp., AGF Funds Inc. and Templeton Management Ltd.

The company has also filed prospectuses for four additional funds. The funds are expected to be available for the RRSP season, subject to regulatory approval.

The Investors Global Science and Technology RSP Fund will track Investors Global Science and Technology Fund.

The Investors Global Financial Services Fund will invest primarily in large financial companies throughout the world.

The Investors Pan-Asian Growth Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in Asian high growth industries such as telecommunications, technology, Internet and financial services.

The Investors High-Yield Money Market Account combines income, liquidity, and capital stability by investing in a mix of high-quality Canadian money-market securities.
