Dundee Wealth Management Inc. has appointed Bob Sellars as senior vice president and CFO of Dundee Wealth. Sellars retains his position as COO and CFO of Dundee Securities Corp., and its sister companies, Dundee Private Investors Inc. and Dundee Insurance Agency Ltd.
Sellars joined the Dundee group of companies in March 2000, after serving as CFO for First Marathon Inc. and First Marathon Securities Ltd. He replaces Ray Benzinger, who has been appointed president and manager of the newly created Dundee Private Equity, a division of Dundee Wealth.
Benzinger has held senior positions with Dundee Wealth and Dundee Bancorp Inc. or their predecessors, for the past 15 years, most recently as executive vice president and CFO of both entities, which he has relinquished in order to pursue this new opportunity.
“The creation of Dundee Private Equity is part of Dundee’s strategic plan to further expand into all aspects of the financial service industry,” says Dundee Chairman, Ned Goodman.
Benzinger continues to serve as president of the Dynamic Venture Opportunities Fund Ltd., a labour-sponsored investment fund which makes private equity investments in small and medium-sized Ontario companies. He also continues as President of New Venture Equity Ltd., which is the private equity arm of Dundee Bancorp, some of the assets of which will be transferred to Dundee Private Equity prior to third-party investors being solicited.
