(March 8 – 11:20 ET) – BMO Mutual Funds is boasting that net sales for the 2001 RRSP season (January through March 1st) reached $480 million, up 180% from last year’s figures.
BMO says fund sales were particularly strong during February, at $313 million, while January and March 1st provided sales of $123.2 million and $43.5 million respectively.
The fund company says 57% of total fund sales were channeled into longer-term funds, with 43% cent going into money market funds.
“Our sales figures strongly indicate that BMO Mutual Funds investors are taking heed of the message to diversify their portfolio in order to reduce risk,” said Linda Knight, vice president, product management and delivery, BMO Mutual Funds.
