(April 5) – Assante Asset Management Ltd., the fund management arm of Assante Corp., is reporting strong net sales in March.

Assante says that net sales in Canada reached $57.6 million for March 2001 compared to net redemptions of $6.6 million in March last year. The company’s Canadian assets under management were $4.22 billion at March 31. As a percentage of the company’s monthly average Canadian assets under management, March net sales were 1.4% of assets.

March net sales came in slightly ahead of January 2001 net sales of $53.5 million, but lagged February 2001 net sales of $66.2 million. Net sales for the first quarter of 2001 are $177.3 million, up 272% from the same quarter last year.
