(December 13 – 13:00 ET) – There’s a huge trade in Mackenzie Financial Corp. shares underway.

At about 11:30 ET today, National Bank Financial crossed almost 49 million Mackenzie shares, at $27.75 a share, in six huge trades.

There’s been no announcement from the company, but with the December 22 deadline approaching for C.I.’s bid, it appears an alternative deal is afoot.

Ten minutes before the Mackenzie shares were moved, National also moved about 24 million shares of TD Bank, suggesting that a deal between the two is underway.
