The new funds include: the Altamira Global 20 Fund, Altamira Global Value Fund, Altamira Biotechnology Fund and Altamira Global Telecommunications Fund.

The Altamira Global 20 Fund will be managed by the Altamira equity team led by Ian Ainsworth, managing director and team leader. The fund will invest in what the team believes are the twenty “best of breed” growth companies. “What makes this fund truly unique is its management approach,” said Chris Hodgson, managing director at Altamira “The depth and breadth of our equity team both in the North American and international markets provide us with the expertise to offer this type of product.”

The Altamira Global Value Fund will be co-managed by Chuck Bastyr and Mark Grammer, vice presidents and portfolio managers, international equities. The managers will seek out companies around the world with strong fundamentals and attractive stock prices.

The Altamira Biotechnology Fund will be managed by Bill Onslow, vice president and portfolio manager, U.S. equities and co-managed by Wendy Chua, assistant vice president and portfolio manager, international equities. The Altamira Global Telecommunications Fund will be co-managed by Vincent Fernandez, vice president and portfolio manager, international equities and Peter Zaltz, vice president and portfolio manager, international equities with Dorothea Mell, assistant vice president and portfolio manager, fixed income as a team member.

Altamira says rapid advances in areas of biotechnology such as genomics — the study of genes to develop new drugs — are paving the way for unprecedented medical advancement, providing attractive investment potential. In the telecommunications field, globalization and rapid technological developments have created a growing need and expectation for better and faster forms of communication.

“The potential growth of these sectors, combined with the highly regarded track record of our global investment team make these funds a very attractive investment option for long term investors,” said Hodgson. “Based on extensive research we are confident that all four funds will provide investors with an excellent complement to a well-diversified portfolio.”
