(April 18 – 10:00 ET) – London Life, Great-West Life and Power Corp. are collectively donating $1 million to the Richard Ivey School of Business of the University of Western Ontario.
The donation will be used to create the London Life-Paul Desmarais Finance Fellowship, using $750,000, and the rest goes to found the Great-West Life Continuing MBA Scholarship fund. The fund will award a two-year scholarship, valued at $6,250 annually, to two MBA students.
“Today’s new economy requires high caliber business expertise to support not only the financial services industry, but Canadian business in general,” says Ray McFeetors, president and CEO of London Life and Great-West Life, in a press release. Paul Desmarais is chairman of Power’s executive committee and a member of the advisory board of the Ivey School.
