Employees of TD Bank Financial Group will present a cheque for $1,000,338.72 to the Children’s Miracle Network during the CMN telethon this weekend. As a national sponsor of CMN for the past seven years, TD and its employees and customers have raised over $5 million for member hospitals across Canada.
“Investing in the future of our communities is important to TD,” says Fred Tomczyk, executive VP, Retail Distribution. “By holding bake sales, car washes and raffles, our employees raised money that will go directly to their local CMN hospital or foundation. Together these small events help ensure that children all across Canada have access to some of the world’s best pediatric health care facilities.”
In addition to employee fundraising, TD supports CMN by donating the proceeds from TD Asset Management’s book, Women’s Guide to Personal and Family Finance: Take Charge Now, which can be found in bookstores across Canada.
CMN is a network of children’s hospitals and foundations, that serves over two million children each year in Canada. Canadian members of the Children’s Miracle Network include: British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital Foundation, Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, Children’s Health Foundation of Northern Alberta, Children’s Health Foundation of Saskatchewan, Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba Inc., Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario, The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation (Toronto), Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Opération Enfant Soleil (Quebec), IWK-Grace Health Centre Foundation (Nova Scotia), and Janeway Children’s Hospital (Newfoundland).
Through its member companies, TD is committed to supporting the communities it serves. In addition to its sponsorship of the Children’s Book Week, TD Canada Trust Scholarships for Outstanding Community Leadership and TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, TD supports a host of local, regional and national children’s programs across Canada, promoting health, safety and education.
