Charles Baillie, chairman and CEO of TD Bank Financial Group and chairman of TD Waterhouse Group Inc., was named 2000 Canadian International Executive of the Year by the at Canadian Council for International Business a recent ceremony in Toronto.

“This award acknowledges the achievements that have earned Mr. Baillie the respect and admiration of his peers throughout Canada and around the world, his exemplary leadership, as well as his commitment to strengthening Canada’s business presence globally,” said CCIB chairman Bernie Wilson.

“I am honoured to receive this award. I have had the very great fortune to work with a superb team of people who have never let Canada’s borders be the limit of their business endeavours. I also want to acknowledge the support that the Canadian Council for International Business provides to Canadian companies,” said Charlie Baillie.

The CCIB’s goal is to ensure that international policy, practices and agreements enhance the ability of Canadian companies to expand globally..
