TD Bank Financial Group today announced the appointment of John Bragg to its board of directors. Bragg is the president and founder of Oxford Frozen Foods Ltd. and the owner and founder of EastLink Communications Inc. Both businesses are based in Nova Scotia.

“John’s diverse business background including his experience founding and leading two successful companies makes him a valuable addition to TD’s board,” said John Thompson, chairman of the board, in a release.

Bragg holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Education degree from Mount Allison University. He also holds Honourary Doctor of Laws degrees from Mount Allison and Acadia Universities.

Bragg was made an officer of the Order of Canada in 1996 and has received numerous other awards and honours over the years including induction in the Canadian Business Hall of Fame and the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame, and a Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1994.

The appointment of Bragg brings the total number of directors to 17.
