John Rothwell, executive vice president of Fidelity Investments Canada, is joining Wellington West Capital to oversee the Winnipeg-based company’s expansion into Ontario and Quebec.

Rothwell will join Wellington West May 1 as senior vice president based in Toronto.

He will be responsible for opening six to eight offices in each of Ontario and Quebec during the next 18 months, a pace that should see the company’s current $2.2 billion in assets under management jump to about $5 billion.
