Pension fund OMERS today announced the appointment of Paul Renaud as senior vice president of finance and administration and CFO, effective November 1.
Renaud brings extensive experience in the world of corporate finance to the position. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and CFO of CAE Inc. During his tenure the company has grown significantly and completed a strategic transformation into a training services business.
Prior to joining CAE, Renaud held senior financial management positions at Southam Newspaper Group and Carling O’Keefe Breweries of Canada.
“We are delighted Paul is joining us,” said OMERS president and CEO Paul Haggis, in a relese. “He has an impressive senior financial management history and will play a key role in helping OMERS realize its future goals as we shift our investment focus and adopt a new organizational model designed to grow the pension fund.”
Renaud has an honours business degree from the University of Windsor and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
OMERS is one of Canada’s largest pension funds with approximately $34 billion in assets. It provides retirement benefits to 340,000 active and retired members on behalf of 900 local government employers across Ontario.
