Citizens Bank of Canada has appointed of Jason Farris as its new president and chief executive officer.

Farris served for seven years as a senior executive in the financial
services technology sector. As president and CEO, says the bank, Farris will be responsible for strategic direction, building on the bank’s growth and profitability as well as furthering its reputation as a progressive employer and an innovator in corporate social responsibility.

Farris will continue as a board member of the Vancity Capital Corporation. As a member of the Vancity senior leadership team, Mr. Farris will contribute to the overall strategy of the Vancity Group.

He has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and
undergraduate degrees from the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia. He succeeds Ian Warner, who became the chief operating officer of Vancity in December 2005.
