RBC Dain Rauscher has created a team to provide small- and medium-sized institutional money managers with specialized trading capabilities and research products from RBC Capital Markets.
The company has hired a group of middle-market specialists, including Michael Marrale, Christopher Basta, William Kimberly and its client associate Emilia Medakovich. They had worked in the New York office of Lehman Brothers. Also joining the group is Andy Ballou, most recently at Red Coat Capital Management, and Ada Feygenson, most recently an associate at CIBC World Markets. As well, Raymond Hayes, an institutional sales professional in RBC Dain’s New York office, has joined the group. Additional hires are planned in the coming weeks.
“Our goal is to service the niche of mid-sized institutional money management firms and hedge funds who are typically ignored by the bulge
bracket firms,” says Mark Whaley, director of RBC Dain’s New York region.
“We have the capabilities to provide the highly specialized services and research these firms need to remain on a competitive footing with their
larger rivals.”
The creation of the middle-market team is consistent with RBC Dain’s plans to significantly expand its presence in the tri-state area where the firm
already employs 120 financial advisers. “The tri-state area is a major area of focus for us and we plan to significantly grow our presence in the
area,” says Whaley.
