Calgary-based McLean & Partners Wealth Management Thursday announced the appointment of Jamie Robertson as the firm’s new chief investment officer.

Robertson brings over 30 years of experience as a seasoned investment manager. He has a broad background in equity investing and fixed income trading in both cash and derivative markets. He most recently spent 10 years at Manulife Financial in Toronto, where he served as the vice president, proprietary investments (equities). Prior to that, he was vice president, government trading at CT Securities and vice president, fixed income trading at JP Morgan Canada.

He has a successful track record of leading research teams, and generating substantial value and growth through all market cycles, along with his deep experience in global asset allocation, proprietary trading, risk management, macroeconomic analysis and portfolio and trading desk management.

Robertson will lead McLean’s research team of five, providing independent research in global dividend growth equities, preferred shares, and fixed income investments. He will be focusing on three main pillars: risk management; developing an appropriate execution thesis for capital allocation; team building and leadership.
