Kirk McIntyre has been appointed senior vice president, Group Insurance, of the Clarica Life Insurance Company. He starts at his new post on July 23, 2001.
McIntyre is currently senior vice president, Retail Services at Maritime Life Assurance Company based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He joined Maritime Life in 1983 and has held a number of senior management positions including, senior vice president, Investment Products from 1993 to 1997 and senior vice president, Group Operations from 1983 to 1992. Prior to joining Maritime Life, McIntyre was with Great West Life Assurance Company, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
He succeeds Michael Beck who is retiring after more than 38 years in the insurance industry. Beck has led Clarica’s group insurance business for the last two years.
McIntyre has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and is a Fellow, Canadian Institute of Actuaries and Fellow, Society of Actuaries.
