(March 7 – 09:30 ET) – Kingsway Financial Services Inc. is announcing the appointment of long-time First Marathon Inc. spokesman F. Michael Walsh to its board. As a First Marathon Vice President, Walsh was the firm’s official public voice.

First Marathon has since been bought by National Bank to create National Bank Financial. Kingsway says Walsh is also a special member of the Ontario District Council of the Investment Dealers Association and holds two masters degrees and a doctorate after stints at the Universities of Guelph, London (U.K.), York and Toronto. He is vice-chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Guelph.

Walsh joins Kingsway as an outside director along with David Atkins, John Beamish, Thomas Di Giacomo, Bernard Gluckstein, and Murray Thompson. Bill Star and James Zuhlke are the only officers that also serve as directors.
