Investor relations firm The Equicom Group Inc. today announced that Nick Hurst will assume the post of vice president in Equicom’s Calgary office.

Hurst is a seasoned investor relations professional with nearly 10 years of financial market experience. In addition to working closely with his existing Western Canada-based clients, he will play a significant role in the future expansion of Equicom’s Calgary office including staff training and development.

“We are pleased to appoint an individual with Nick’s experience to Equicom’s Calgary team,” said Jason Hogan, executive vp of Equicom, in a news release. “We have enjoyed some early successes in the region and believe there remains a significant opportunity for our comprehensive suite of services. Nick will be joining Managing Director Dave Feick, who opened Equicom’s Western Canada office in late 2005, reinforcing Equicom’s commitment to the Western Canadian market.”

Hurst joined Equicom in 2001 and has worked with companies in the technology, resource and life science sectors. Prior to joining Equicom, he held a number of progressively senior financial services positions with TD Bank Financial Group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons.) from the University of Toronto.
