(January 27 – 17:10 ET) – Ten Quebec Finance Grand Prix awards as well as two special awards were presented yesterday during the first Financial Industry Gala at the World Trade Centre of Montreal. Guy Julien, Minister for Industry and Trade, and 500 leaders of the Quebec financial community, were in attendance.
The winners of the Quebec Finance Grand Prix awards include:
1. National Bank of Canada (Financial Institution of the year)
2. Standard Life Trust (Mutual Funds)
3. National Bank Financial (securities)
4. Cable Satisfaction International Inc. (Investor relations)
5. Mr.Charles Larente, ScotiaMcLeod (Portfolio management)
6. Confédération des Caisses populaires et d‚économie Desjardins du Québec (advertising campaign)
7. Industrial Alliance Life Insurance Company (Life Insurance)
8. Tanner Assurances Ltée (General Insurance)
9. Ice-Web/Les Systèmes informatiques Ice-Berg (Internet tools and Software)
10. Mr. Frédérick Proteau (Upcoming Generation of Professionals)
Two special awards were also presented during the Gala. The Gaëtan Huard Trophy, was awarded to Mrs.Lise Cantin, and the Marcel Tassé Award was awarded to Mrs.Sandra Fradette.
A number of sponsors were associated with the event. They include the Government of Quebec, the newspaper La Presse, the magazine Finance et Investissement, Cogicom Informatique, Talvest Fund Management, the Commission des valeurs mobilières du Québec and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
