CM Investment Management Inc. has made changes to its Canadian portfolio management team. Gaelen Morphet has been appointed lead manager of CMI’s investment team, effective immediately. Kim Shannon is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Morphen and Shannon have been co-managers of Canadian portfolios at CMI for three years.

Morphet has been an investment manager for 18 years. She is first VP, Equities, and joined CMI in January of 1999. Prior to joining the firm, she was a partner and portfolio manager with AMI Partners. Previously, she was head of Canadian equities at Scotia Investment Management, where she managed the Canadian equity portion of the Bank of Nova Scotia’s Pension Fund, as well as several Scotia Excelsior Funds. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts.

The CMI Value Team has been in place for 3 years and is responsible for managing approximately $1.5 billion in the following: Renaissance Canadian Balanced Value, Renaissance Canadian Core Value, Renaissance Canadian Income Trust, Renaissance Canadian Small Cap, as well as CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Consulting Service Strategies’ Canadian Focused Value Balanced and Canadian Large Cap Value Equity.
