(December 21 – 13:40 ET) -The 1999 CIBC World Markets Children’s Miracle Day raised $12,735,246 for children’s charities. The record-breaking total was unveiled today at a special ceremony in Toronto.
On Miracle Day, the first Tuesday of every December, CIBC World Markets sales and trading staff from around the world in Asia, Canada, Europe and the United States, and Wood Gundy Private Client Financial Consultants, donate their fees and commissions to children’s charities. This year, Miracle Day was held on Tuesday, December 7th.
“Children are our finest investment,” said Tesse Parigoris, Co-Chair of the 1999 CIBC World Markets Children’s Miracle. “Thank you to all of our clients and friends who directed their business to us on Miracle Day. With their help, many children around the world will have a chance to make their own dreams a reality.”
Miracle Day has been a tradition at CIBC World Markets since 1984. Since then, over $46 million has been raised to improve the health, education and well-being of children. Each office directs the funds raised locally to charities in their communities.
