CIBC Mellon announced today that David Planden was promoted to executive director, western Canada, on February 7.

“Mr. Planden brings extensive client relationship management experience to his new role, which will be focused on providing high-quality client relationship management to securities transfer, corporate trust and custody clients,” said David Linds, senior vp, business development and client relationship management, for CIBC Mellon. “Since joining CIBC Mellon in 1998, Mr. Planden has been responsible for major pension, custody and trust clients in Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan.”

Planden replaces John Hay, vp, relationship management, western Canada, who retired in March of this year. Hay was responsible for providing high-quality client relationship management for securities transfer, corporate trust and custody clients located in the western provinces. In 1999 he was promoted to the position of vice-president, relationship management, western Canada.

“Over the years, Mr. Hay made significant contributions to the company and built strong relationships with his clients and staff,” said Linds.
