(April 27 – 10:30 ET) – CIBC Wealth Management executive Sonia Baxendale has received a Top 40 Under 40 award. Baxendale is one of 40 business leaders recognized to have reached a significant level of success under the age of 40.

Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 is a national program founded and managed by The Caldwell Partners to recognize achievements in vision and leadership, innovation, impact, community involvement and contribution and growth strategy.

“Sonia’s appointment to this prestigious group of individuals is well deserved,” says Gerry McCaughey, head of CIBC Wealth Management. “In the past nine years at CIBC, Sonia has clearly exemplified the traits of an outstanding leader and has made many exceptional contributions to CIBC and the financial services community.”

“Sonia played a key role on the team developing CIBC’s dual employment initiative, a strategic endeavor that distinguishes CIBC financial advisors from all other financial advisers in the Canadian industry and will change the way banks execute investment business in Canada,” says McCaughey.

CIBC was the first financial institution in Canada to dually employ its advisers so that they are licensed to sell banking/credit products as well as the full range of non-proprietary investment products.
