A Canadian is taking over PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting.
PwC Global CEO Samuel DiPiazza Jr. today announced that Thomas O’Neill, 56, of Toronto will become CEO of PwC Consulting. O’Neill replaces Scott Hartz who had led PwC Consulting since 1995.
As the new leader of PwC Consulting, O’Neill will be responsible for moving ahead quickly to position the business for legal separation of consulting from its auditing business in a way that achieves maximum benefit for the organization’s clients, partners and staff.
O’Neill has served as PwC’s COO since July 2000. He joined the organization in 1967 in Toronto and became a partner 1978. In 1988 he was named managing partner of the Canadian firm’s management consulting practice and managing partner of the Canadian firm in 1990.
Also, Willem Brocker, 50, of Amsterdam, will become managing partner, global markets; Amyas Morse, 52, of London will become managing partner, global operations. Brocker and Morse’s positions are new.
In making the announcement DiPiazza said, “These appointments — coming from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Canada — reflect the global nature of our business and our clients. In addition to representing geographic diversity, Willem, Amyas and Tom are strong leaders who bring to their new positions long and solid experience in both client service and upholding the traditions and culture of PricewaterhouseCoopers.”
Brocker will bring together, oversee and coordinate all of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ client-facing activities, including lines of service, industry groups and geographies. Morse, as managing partner, global operations, will have day-to-day responsibility for finance, legal affairs, risk management and infrastructure. DiPiazza also announced that the organization will have dual headquarters in New York City and Amsterdam.
