The Canadian Securities Institute is launching an internet-based study aid called CSC plus. CSC plus is an interactive, multi-media learning tool that has been developed to help students complete the Canadian Securities Course. CSC plus is the first of a series of online learning aids that will be launched by CSI over the next few months. CSC plus offers the most comprehensive Internet based investment training available in Canada.
Taking full advantage of the multi-media capabilities of the web, CSI has loaded the program with audio, video and discussion elements and quizzes in addition to text. CSC plus will be valuable for students with all kinds of learning preferences, and will be particularly useful for those who cannot attend a traditional classroom based seminar.
“CSC plus offers students a choice of learning methods,” says Roberta Wilton, President of the Canadian Securities Institute. “The program is highly interactive and student-centric, making a serious program of study easier to learn and more enjoyable. It revolutionizes the approach to learning at CSI.”
CSC plus offers interactive learning support study management self-assessment person-to-person assistance using internet technology. It also offers audio-visual illustration and tools such as a calculator, tables and slide shows to enliven the course material.
It organizes each chapter into easy-to-tackle two to three-hour lessons with clear objectives, which are cross-referenced to the printed text. It provides a useful calendar and study planner to help students manage their time. Each chapter includes an opening quiz to test basic knowledge and a closing test to measure learning. To provide more personal support for a student body that is located all over the globe, CSC plus includes a discussion board where students can post questions and have access to academic advisors.
