(March 8 – 16:20 ET) – Bob Schultz has decided to retire, effective May 1, as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Merrill Lynch Canada Inc.
“Throughout his 28 years in the business, Bob has been a prominent figure in the Canadian investment dealer community and has made a significant impact on the industry. His standing in the industry is only exceeded by his commitment to the exceptional professionals he has led,” says Dave Komansky, chairman and CEO of Merrill Lynch.
Schultz joined Walwyn Stodgell Cochran Murray as president and COO in February 1989. He later became CEO of Midland Walwyn in 1990, shortly after Walwyn’s merger with Midland Doherty.
In 1998, Schultz led the discussions that resulted in the sale of Midland Walwyn to Merrill Lynch. He will continue to lend his extensive knowledge and expertise to the company by serving as a Director of Merrill Lynch Canada and as Special Senior Advisor.
