BMO Capital Markets has hired Tom Dale as managing director of the firm’s U.S. leveraged finance group.
Based in New York, Dale will be responsible for originating, structuring and executing on a wide range of leveraged financings for the firm’s clients. Dale will also work with BMO Capital Markets’ industry and M&A investment banking teams that provide an integrated approach to delivering solutions to financial sponsor and corporate clients.
“Tom brings more than 20 years of experience in debt, equity and M&A transactions,” says Jim Moglia, executive managing director, and co-head of BMO Capital Markets’ U.S. leveraged finance group. “As part of the leveraged finance team’s overall mandate, we believe Tom will be an excellent asset as we look to increase our lead roles in arranging and executing leveraged loans and high yield bond transactions, particularly with financial sponsors.”
Moglia heads the group with Surjit Rajpal, executive managing director. Dale will report jointly to Jim Goll and Eric Schubert, managing directors, who head the Group’s origination and structuring team.
Dale was most recently with G.C. Andersen Partners, a New York merchant banking firm. His investment banking experience includes senior positions at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown and PaineWebber, where he focused on the telecommunications and media industries, as well as Chase Manhattan Capital Markets Corp., where he was a founding member of its M&A group. Dale is a graduate of the University of Virginia and earned his MBA at the Wharton School.
