Joseph Quarin, previously chief financial officer, has been appointed Canadian chief operating officer and executive vice president for the BFI Canada Income Fund, the company announced today. Thomas J. Cowee has been named the fund’s permanent chief financial officer, the company said.
In his new role, Quarin will lead the fund’s operations in Canada, which include non-hazardous solid waste collection, recycling, landfill and transfer station operations across five provinces, BFI said.
Quarin has been with BFI Canada since 2000 and was most recently chief financial officer of the fund since it went public in 2002, BFI said.
Cowee had been IESI Corporation’s chief financial officer, treasurer and assistant secretary since 1997. As vice president integration, and as a key member of the merger and integration team that managed BFI Canada’s acquisition of IESI, Cowee has full working knowledge of the capital structure of the fund, the company said.
