(March 2 – 17:15 ET) Bank of Montreal has announced the appointment of Angela Ferrante as senior vice-president, Corporate Communications.

Most recently head of public affairs at Ontario Power Generation, a successor company of Ontario Hydro, Ferrante was previously executive vice-president and Chief Operating Officer at the C.D. Howe Institute.
Prior to that, Ms. Ferrante held numerous positions at Maclean’s news magazine, including Assistant Managing Editor, Senior Editor, Senior Writer and Ontario Bureau Chief. In addition, she has worked as a feature writer for the Montreal Gazette and as a reporter and political commentator for the Montreal Star. She is the author of Out of Iran, which sold more than half a million copies in several languages.
Ferrante has held volunteer positions as diverse as chairwoman, the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education; member, Board of Governors, National Newspaper Awards; member, Marketing and Communications Committee, University Health Network; and member, Board of Governors, PEN Canada.
