Canadian Imperial Bank of
Commerce today said it received
final approval from U.S.>
regulators to operate CIBC
National Bank.
Under the banner
MarketplaceBank, CIBC
National will offer a variety of
consumer banking products and
services through in-store
pavilions. Full accessibility to
customer accounts will be
delivered through seven-day,
24-hour telephone, ABM and
Internet capability.
CIBC applied for a U.S.
national bank license in Dec.
1998. Over the past year, the
Office of the Comptroller of the
Currency, the Federal Deposit
Insurance Corporation and the
Federal Reserve Board each
reviewed and approved the
application.
CIBC National Bank will begin
MarketplaceBank operations through
banking pavilions in select
Winn-Dixie Marketplace stores in
Florida.
