(March 29 – 16:30 ET) – TD Bank Financial Group and Sobeys Inc. have reached an agreement to open TD Canada Trust In-Store locations in selected Sobeys and IGA Garden Market grocery stores across Canada. By the end of 2002, an expected 50 locations will open across Canada.

Since announcing a similar agreement in Atlantic Canada in 1998, TD has opened six In-Store locations in Sobeys in Atlantic Canada and is opening another five on Friday, March 30.

“Expanding our TD Canada Trust In-Store network across Canada is just one more way we are making banking more convenient for our customers. Together with Sobeys we will provide our customers with one-stop shopping convenience and accessibility to a broad range of products and services,” says Fred Tomczyk, executive vice president, TD Canada Trust.

Customers will be able to access a wide range of services including chequing and savings accounts, investments and lending solutions. Each location will have a private sit-down area, as well as a full-service Green Machine.
