The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions has issued a warning about an unauthorized bank.

OSFI says AfriqueBank of Toronto has been trying to confer credibility through Web site links to legitimate banks.

The regulator says that AfriqueBank is not an authorized Canadian or foreign bank. It had been operating an Internet site at http://www.afrique-banque.com, and the site contained links to the Internet sites of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Toronto Dominion Bank. The links to their sites were not authorized, OSFI says.
