(March 16 – 14:30 ET) – Vancouver-based software company MindfulEye is launching an Internet monitoring tool for retail investors.

The InvestorLite online monitoring tool provides investors a real-time ranking of the top five most actively discussed companies, the top three most positively discussed companies, and the top three most negatively discussed companies on the Internet.

In addition, the tool allows investors to follow detailed discussion and published comments on any publicly traded security in North America.

Ray Torresan, MindfulEye president and CEO says, “In a market often driven by rumors and perception, financial research doesn’t show the whole picture.”

The company’s technology aggregates content from hundreds of thousands of company mentions in near real-time from financial editorial sites, news wire services, real-time chat channels, and discussion forums. It adds value to this content by reading and rating each company mention for its subjective expression. The resulting score shows investors changes in public perception about companies and provides early warning of mood swings that can affect the value of their portfolio.

MindfulEye says independent research conducted by Wired Magazine (April, 2001) found “a statistically significant correlation between changes in MindfulEye’s mood scores from one day to the next and in stock prices the following day.”
