The management makeover at Merrill Lynch & Co. continues with the creation of a new operating committee of top executives, according to a report from Bloomberg.
According to an internal memo from the company’s senior management, the committee will include Jerome Kenney, who it has also promoted to the role of head of corporate strategy and vice chairman. Last week, Stephen Hammerman, vice chairman and former general counsel, resigned to become legal adviser to the NYPD.
The committee will include Thomas Davis, head of research and private equity, James Gorman, head of the U.S. brokerage, Michael Marks, chairman of the international brokerage and asset management, Paul Roy, who co-heads global markets and investment banking with Marks, Thomas Patrick, CFO, new general counsel Rosemary Berkery, and president Stan O’Neal. In a sign of the changing of the guard at Merrill, CEO David Komansky is reportedly not on the committee.
The new group will meet periodically, along with other senior executives, to address “critical strategic and business operating issues that impact the company,” the memo said.
