(October 25) – Maritime Life has just introduced a new critical illness insurance product . “Critical Needs” features lump sum benefits that can be used to pay the costs associated with a critical illness.
Individuals can choose to use the money to seek out-of-the-country medical care, access home care, pay off debts, modify their home to accommodate physical challenges or take time off from work to recuperate.
Maritime Life says its policy is unique in that it is the only plan to offer a non-life threatening benefit upon diagnosis of cancer associated with HIV, stage A prostate cancer or some skin cancers.
It offers a unique T-10 Premium Refund Rider, refunding a portion of premiums in the event the buyer never develops a critical illness. It also allows up to six lives on one policy.
“Critical Needs is our first major product enhancement since our acquisition of Aetna Canada. With this launch, Canadians will further benefit from Maritime Life’s commitment to the living benefits marketplace,” says Lori Boyce, vice president. “This plan is designed to provide choices and options to people at a time when they need it the most.”
