The Investment Dealers Association of Canada has suspended the membership rights and privileges of Rampart Securities Inc. have been suspended

The suspension follows on the identification of a capital deficiency. IDA by-laws can require the suspension of membership until a capital deficiency has been rectified.

Rampart Securities Inc. has also been directed to immediately cease dealing with the public. Until this capital deficiency has been resolved, the IDA says clients will not be able to access their accounts at Rampart.

The IDA says it is working with provincial securities commissions to identify appropriate arrangements on behalf of clients of Rampart and will communicate this information as soon as it is available.
