Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. today announced the appointment of Steve Brett as chairman and CEO, and Scott Donovan as president and COO, of TIG Specialty Insurance Solutions, effective immediately.

Currently, Brett is president of TIG’s Special Risk Operations division, and Donovan is TIG’s Chief Financial Officer.

Brett’s career in the insurance industry spans over 33 years. From 1969 to 1997, when he joined TIG, he occupied increasingly senior specialty underwriting positions with Fireman’s Fund and Allianz insurance companies.

Donovan’s career in the insurance industry spans over 23 years. Beginning with Crum & Forster in 1979 where he held various financial management positions, Donovan served as senior vice president and CFO of Coregis Insurance Group (a subsidiary of GE Capital) prior to joining TIG in 1999.
