In June, CIBC celebrated its 14th annual Diversity Month across Canada and the U.S. Last month, CIBC employees organized more than 150 events including panel discussions, employee workshops, open houses and cultural festivals.

Members of CIBC’s senior executive team hosted numerous events. At CIBC’s National Aboriginal Day event, Gerry McCaughey, president and CEO, spoke to employees about the importance of diversity at CIBC. “To be most effective, CIBC needs to reflect our clients and communities and celebrate people’s differences and individual contributions,” McCaughey said.

CIBC’s employee-led diversity groups played a key role in the month-long celebration by organizing and hosting a variety of events and activities. CIBC supports eight such groups, which provide employees with a forum for networking and serve as informal advisory councils on workplace issues.
