CIBC announced Friday that David Marshall, vice chairman, Retail Products, Technology and Operations, has elected to retire from CIBC, effective August 15.
Marshall joined CIBC in 1999, following a distinguished career in Canadian government service and four years as chief information officer for Bankers Trust of New York.
“David has been a key member of the senior executive team and has provided CIBC with strong leadership,” said John Hunkin, chairman and CEO, CIBC. “During his tenure, David and his team have led CIBC’s retail products businesses to market share gains and record profitability and have helped establish CIBC as a technology leader. David has also launched our innovative Amicus white label banking enterprise. We will miss David and wish him the very best for an enjoyable retirement.”
In a related move, Mike Woeller, senior executive vice president and chief information officer, will now report to. Hunkin. Prior to joining CIBC in July of 2000, Woeller held a number of senior executive positions at Canada Trust and TD Bank and developed the merger integration plan for TD Canada Trust.
Marshall’s other responsibilities for Retail Products and the Amicus business units will be assumed by other members of the bank’s senior executive team.
