(March 28 – 14:20 ET) – Jean Pierre Sabourin has been re-appointed as president and CEO of Canada Deposit Insurance Corp. for a five-year term. The appointment is effective June 1, 2001.
Born in Ottawa in 1949, Sabourin joined CDIC’s accounting department in 1976. Appointed chief operating officer in 1983, he became executive vice president and COO in 1986. He was first appointed president and CEO in 1990. Sabourin holds an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Executive Program.
