CanX Systems Inc. has changed its company name to Gmarkets Inc. as it expands its capital markets service globally.

Gmarkets has broadened its content coverage across North America and Europe. The new name reflects its new global presence, as the “G” represents the word “global”.

The Gmarkets service includes real-time North American and European coverage of money markets, fixed income, interest rate swaps, rate fixings and foreign exchange. The service is targeted to institutional investors, and sales and trading professionals.

Gmarkets also announced it is partnering with UK firm Vichara. Vichara designs, implements and customizes enterprise systems for securities trading, portfolio management, asset securitization, risk
management, e-finance and financial operations.

“We are confident we have selected the right partner, Vichara, to help us expand our business in Europe,” said Robin Hanlon, CEO of Gmarkets, in a release.

“Gmarkets’s real-time capital markets service, with the addition of quality European content, will be attractive to a large number of market participants in London,” says Andrew Sutherland, managing director, Vichara. “It will fulfill a need in the marketplace for a professional capital markets workstation that is easy to use and available anywhere, anytime on the Internet.”

Gmarkets new website is www.gmkts.com. The European service is available for beta testing.

Toronto-based Gmarkets was founded in 2004. The company’s flagship service is PILOT, a real-time workstation for financial professionals delivered over the Internet.
