For the second year in a row, Toronto-based Bank of Montreal (BMO) has been named one of the most diverse and inclusive workplaces, the bank announced Thursday.

“An inclusive culture is a top priority at BMO. We are dedicated to fostering a workplace that supports our diverse teams and enables individuals to bring their ‘whole selves’ to work,” says Rajini Nagendran, chief inclusion officer, BMO, in a statement. “We’re proud of our progress and remain unwavering in our commitment creating an inclusive environment for our people, our customers and our communities.”

BMO is the only Canadian bank ranked among the top 25 companies on the 2018 Thomson Reuters global diversity and inclusion index.

The index is based on metrics across four key categories: diversity; inclusion; people development; and news controversies. According to Thompson Reuters, the top 100 companies that are named to the index are deemed “very likely to be the best in class relative to their industry and country peers.”

The index is available on Thomson Reuters Eikon, as are the underlying diversity and inclusion metrics.
