B2B Trust, Laurentian Bank and Canada Post to Offer Innovative Select Banking Services at Postal Outlets

B2B Trust, Laurentian Bank of Canada, and Canada Post today announced they are bringing B2B Trust’s banking technology to 50 postal outlets across the country, after successful completion of a trial phase.

B2B Trust and Laurentian Bank’s independent financial advisors and banking customers can now make and authenticate deposits and change bank card personal identification numbers at selected postal outlets.

Postal employees at these locations have been specially trained to handle acceptance with a pin pad machine. Installation of deposit services at the 50 nation-wide Canada Post sites occurred over the summer of 2001.

“Our client-centric philosophy means that we put our bank where our clients need it,” said Henri-Paul Rousseau, president and CEO, B2B Trust. “Customers can now deposit at one of the specially equipped Canada Post outlets across the country, bank over the Internet or at an ABM, or visit a Laurentian Bank retail location.”

“Canada Post is pleased to work with a forward-thinking and innovative partner such as B2B Trust. We are committed to offering Canadians convenient access to a broad range of products and services, well beyond traditional postal services, through our retail network,” said André Ouellet, president and CEO, Canada Post.

The B2B Trust/Canada Post agreement will see further site selection and deposit service installations at up to 1,000 postal outlets across Canada over the next three years.
