Aon Corp. said yesterday that the vast majority of its approximately 1,100 World Trade Center employees have been reported safe as of this afternoon.
Aon also said that it has contacted nearly all of its employees who were traveling to New York City from other offices. Aon employees at the command center in Glenview, Illinois continue to work around the clock to contact New York-based employees and their families, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
“We are still receiving initial telephone calls from employees in New York City who are letting us know they are safe,” Aon chairman and CEO Patrick Ryan said.
“We urge employees and those with information about employees to contact our emergency hotline at 866.256.4154.” Ryan added, “We deeply appreciate the outpouring of assistance and concern being extended by other corporations.”
