Each week, we summarize notable moves across the financial industry.

  • John Duke has joined Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Canada Inc. as a senior portfolio manager and wealth advisor, leaving RBC Dominion Securities after more than 15 years. Duke was also previously a vice-president (VP) and investment advisor at BMO Nesbitt Burns for 14 years. He brings associate wealth advisor Christine Chiang with him.
  • Alexander Jansen has joined TD Wealth Family Office as a senior portfolio manager, making the move from BMO Family Office, where we served as an investment strategist for four years. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade with UBS Wealth Management as director, investment solutions.
  • Gabriel Castiglio has been appointed interim global CEO of Fiera Capital Corp. to fill in for Maxime Ménard, who has stepped away for a medical leave. Castiglio joined Fiera in 2019 as an executive vice-president (EVP) and chief legal officer and corporate secretary before moving into the role of executive director and global chief operating officer in July 2025. The company expects Ménard, who was hired in 2024 from Jarislowsky Fraser Ltd., will return to the role.
  • Blair Evans has been promoted to VP, financial planning at IG Wealth Management from assistant VP, tax and estate planning. He joined the firm in 2017 as director, tax & estate planning from EY, where he spent more than a decade, including as senior tax manager.
  • Alfred Lee has been appointed executive partner at Q Wealth Partners, after joining the firm as deputy chief investment officer in September after more than 14 years with BMO Asset Management. While at BMO, he served in several director-level portfolio manager and investment strategist roles across fixed income, equity and commodity ETFs at BMO. He also had previous roles with CIBC Wood Gundy and RBC Investor Services.
  • Daniel Rethazy has been appointed EVP, personal banking at EQB Inc., effective April 6. Rethazy comes to EQB Inc. from CIBC, where he took on the role of EVP, enterprise capabilities and organizational agility, just three months ago. Before that, he served in two senior VP roles, first leading the bank’s retail contact centres, then its personal lending and insurance business. He also spent more than seven years with TD in various VP-level roles, after a seven-year stint with McKinsey & Co. focused on the travel sector.
  • Ugo Bizzarri has transitioned from CEO of Hazelview Investments to executive chair, as part of the firm’s planned succession strategy. In his place, Corrado Russo and Michael Tsourounis have been appointed co-CEOs. They will also retain their current roles, Russo as chief investment officer of Hazelview’s public real estate investment platform, and Tsourounis as chief investment officer of its private platform. Russo joined Hazelview 15 years ago as a managing director from Forum Securities Ltd. Tsourounis has served in several roles since joining the firm 19 years ago as an executive director.
  • Daniele Farinaccia has stepped down after nearly seven years with Sun Life, where he most recently served as senior VP, distribution and channel management. Before joining Sun Life, he spent close to 20 years with TD in a variety of roles, including branch manager, and several VP roles with responsibilities ranging from business management, digitization and automation and branch planning. He has not announced his next move.
