- Brian Belski has left BMO Capital Markets to start his own venture, Humilis Investment Strategies. Belski has three decades of experience in the investment industry, and was chief investment strategist and managing director for the past 13 years, becoming a well-known media commentator. In an announcement on LinkedIn, he said his new firm “brings together decades of institutional experience to deliver separately managed account (SMA) portfolios and independent research for private wealth and institutional clients.” In addition to his time at BMO, Belski has held senior strategy and research positions at Oppenheimer & Company, Merrill Lynch and Piper Jaffray. Joining Belski from BMO at Humilis is Nick Roccanova, formerly head of U.S. equity strategy for 13 years, and Sooyun Hong, who was head of portfolio strategy for six years.
- Rajeev Kudsia, Cameron Leith and Samuel White have joined CI Assante Wealth Management. The team of senior wealth advisors departed from Manulife Securities, with Kudsia and Leith spending more than 20 years with the firm.
- Phil Kuzyk has joined Harbourfront Wealth Management, making the leap from Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, where he spent more than a decade. Kuzyk has more than 26 years of experience and brings with him a team of three wealth advisors and an associate. Camillo Di Prata and his team have also joined Harbourfront after 11 years with Canaccord and more than 20 years in the industry.
- Julie-Andrée Côté has been named president of CFA Montréal’s board of directors, succeeding Sandy Poiré, who completed a two-year tenure. Côté is director, Americas institutional business, at BlackRock. Since 2016, Côté has held several positions, including vice-president of the board, with CFA Montréal.
- Sanjay Kulkarni has been named chief revenue officer at Croesus. Kulkarni brings more than 25 years of experience in sales and marketing in the software and financial services industries to the newly created role. His resume includes stints at Dye & Durham Corp., TMX Group and with Nasdaq’s SaaS business.
